Turbulence plots big return for 2019

Reggae artiste Turbulence says he is currently putting the finishing touches on his album, which is set to be released by next April.

"We have an album coming out called The Remedy. We'll be touring extensively on it to promote it everywhere. You can expect authenticity at its best with anything from Turbulence. We have dancehall on it, reggae, hip hop, R & B, a mixture of things. It's going to be exciting," Turbulence said.

The entertainer was speaking with THE WEEKEND STAR in Waterhouse, St Andrew, where Ghetto Splash was held on Tuesday night.

"I wanted to give the people me at my best on this album, so I will only have one collaboration on it, with Mr Anthony B. The album will be a wonderful thing to listen to, to put you to bed, to wake you up in the mornings. You will feel good when you hear it, trust me."

Turbulence, whose given name is Sheldon Campbell, is known for hit songs such as Name and Numbers, X Girlfriend and Blood Dem Out. The entertainer experienced a lull in his career, which saw him disappearing from the spotlight for a number of years.

According to the artiste, although he was not on the musical front lines, he never gave up music and was still recording.

"I've always been doing music, so even when the people don't see me, I'm working. We're taking things global now, and so we've been doing shows overseas and just making connections there," he said.

"The aim is to go higher in music. When you establish yourself in Jamaica, yuh affi take it a step higher. The people who know me, know I never stop working and setting goals, so I guess all I can say now is watch out for all that is to come."
