Though his single My Tongue has barely touched the streets, Mayne Champagne already has tongues wagging in dancehall spaces of New York, Toronto and Kingston.

The song implores males to enjoy the full pleasures of the all-inclusive buffet of oral sex.

" Lick it good like you know you should," the song reprises, and dancehall's freshly minted pied piper of cunnilingus has suddenly become the joystick for screaming, swooning female fans across the Toronto area and beyond.

And, to add more fire to the already-smouldering pot, the Canada-based dancehall artiste has enlisted the support of porn actress to co-star with him in the song's video clip.

But before all this, Mayne Champagne was locked away in prison for several years, doing time on armed robbery and firearm possession charges.

Despite the fact that Mayne's mom was a strict Christian, he got caught up with bad company and robbed a general store in London, Ontario, and was sentenced to five years in 2012.

A very remorseful Mayne Champagne credits his deep passion for music for keeping him away from further trouble during the difficult years when his dad was deported to Jamaica.

He did piano and saxophone lessons as a child, sang in the youth choir at church, and, as he matured, his love for music only intensified.

He interned at a downtown Toronto recording studio where he polished his craft and, eventually, he was producing songs for Drake, before he became a chart-topper.

One of the songs he produced, You Must Hate Money, featuring Rich Boy, was included on Drake's second mixtape, Comeback Season.

In 2016, Mayne was living in Edmonton and was searching for a new direction to turn his life around.

"While there, I had the good fortune of being interviewed on Canadian television about a song I had written called #MakeitAwkward. It spoke to different types of discrimination. The television exposure it generated excited my interest in performing, and I released my first single, Kissing All Over, shortly thereafter," he said.

And what about the taboo with dancehall dons performing oral sex?

"At the end of the day, I am an artiste of the people. People in Jamaica, as well as around the world, engage in and enjoy oral sex," he told THE STAR. "I am not concerned with the taboo of dancehall artistes and oral sex. That's their business, not mine, except possibly for Ishawna who I'd like to meet."
