Up-and-coming dancehall artiste Pretty Devil says she was given the moniker based on her ability to 'transform' from her usually reserved persona into one that churns out consistently raunchy dancehall tracks.

But in her most recent single, Bad Gyal, the entertainer is aiming to prove her versatility. The official audio for the track is already out on YouTube, but the accompanying music video is expected to drop this Friday.

"I don't normally do the 'bad gyal' songs and so this is me showing a different side of me. People are used to me singing raunchy songs for the ladies, but now I am going in a different direction and they are going to see versatility from Pretty Devil," she said. The artiste is hoping the single lands her that big break.

"In the next five years I see myself dominating the business. I see myself in different places doing big things with big artistes and spreading my wings. In the near future mi supposed to be one of the biggest things coming out of Jamaica and as soon as this corona thing done, mi hope fi a do the tours and the more collabs because international is my aim," she said.

Pretty Devil says she is well aware of the other female dancehall artistes currently making waves on the overseas music circuit and her aim is to set herself apart from them.

"What is going to make me stand out from others in the industry is that I am natural in every department. I don't have a false body and I don't pretend. Everything is natural, from my personality to my physical appearance. How yuh see me, is how yuh get me and I don't want to be like anybody else," she said. "I don't want to be a Shenseea or a Spice or a Jada. I want to be myself. I don't just want to be another artiste coming out of Jamaica. I want to be a legend in the dancehall industry."

Pretty Devil is also promoting the Car Back remix she did with Skillibeng.
