Tifa, Noah Powa create a ‘Mood’

Entertainers Tifa and Noah Powa are keen to show their creativity in a fun way as they join forces to promote their recent collaboration titled Mood.

Through a series of skits, the two have kept their fans laughing at the fantasy situation they find themselves in. As the play unfolds, both Tifa and Noah Powa are getting quite a bit of flack from their significant others, and it's all because of Mood. In one episode, Noah Powa puts Tifa on speaker phone in order to reassure his suspicious wife that there is nothing between them. It backfires on him in a major way.

Tifa, in episode two, asks Noah Powa to tell 'Zaddy', her sugar daddy, that they are just friends. Noah Powa takes revenge and tells Zaddy to stop paying Tifa's rent because she's been spilling the beans on him and his Viagra-popping activities. But, unknown to Noah Powa, "the music video no dun pay fah" and the now-enraged Zaddy is the financier.

For some reason when they were asked to relate the story behind Mood, both artistes burst out laughing.

"Me and [producer] Jazzy [T] was driving when Tifa called and him seh, 'Noah, you and Tifa fi do a song yuh know.' And between the Thursday and the Sunday, the song done. Then we both came up with the idea to do the skit and people are loving it. It's all about bringing back some fun in the dancehall," Noah Powa related.

The CJ The Chemist and Jazzy T-produced track dropped on March 25 and the artistes are pleased with the overall reaction.

"Over here [in the US] the disc jocks have been playing it and showing us the support. I think it is a beautiful song that could go places, so we are going to continue the promos. It's raw, but it's not raw, raw, raw. People want the dance again ... dem want to bubble and this is the song for it," Tifa said, adding that the song reminds her of Cobra's Flex and Dexta Daps' Call Me If and Jealous Ova.

Noah Powa, who refers to Tifa as his "lickle roadie", shared that they have a firm friendship and stressed that they will definitely be doing more musical collaborations.

"Right now, we tell each other we problems and then we good again. Yesterday me cook stew peas, and today she follow me. But we sharing musical ideas and inspiring each other," he said.
