Revelling in the fact that she is all of 100 pounds lighter than she was three years ago, singer and social media sensation A'mari, aka DJ Mona Lisa, is ready to shake things up in a major way with the single Splish Splash, which is enjoying a buzz since it dropped on social media on the weekend.

Quickly getting her amazing weight loss story out of the way, A'mari reminded that she "had done the weight loss surgery" but also shared that she has a big secret weapon which she wasn't yet ready to unveil.

"I wish I could say that it was one particular thing that brought me to this point but it was really several things. I did my research because I have always been reading doctor books from I was a was a kid and I studied to know how to go about it. I am now on the final steps of my weight loss journey," A'mari told THE STAR.

She added, "Everything occurred over a period of three years, so it was gradual. I was like, 'How did I get there? Why wasn't I able to see myself and see how oversized I was?' But when I look back, I can't regret the years of being a mother and putting my children first. But I am finding back 'me'. I am not totally there yet because you have to rediscover yourself. But I can't wait to embrace the new A'mari. She is coming out slowly but surely."

The recording artiste is quite excited about the semi-operatic Splish Splash, which she said "has taken off like lightning" and is predicting that, like her single Nico, it will be a major hit. Produced by Chase Mills Records, Splish Splash opens with a rousing line from George Frideric Handel's spiritual and iconic Hallelujah chorus -- Kings of Kings ... Hallelujah -- and immediately segues into what comes across as a proper cuss out.

" Watch yuh mouth mi nuh tek back chat ...talk di tings pon social media then call up di STAR and di Gleaner... ," she chants.

It seemed to hit the right nerve with social media, even with those who are accusing her of ripping off Peter Tosh's Creation, which samples the same Hallelujah chorus.

"We never saw this coming," A'mari admitted. "Mr Mills said to me that I am a great song-writer and he wanted me to do a song for this instrumental. I wondered what to do with this beat. At the time he asked me to write the song, I had already gone through a lot for 2022 and the only words that could come to my mind were 'stop call up mi name, wha' yuh waan fi do .... drive mi insane?'. Then I thought about it and realised that a lot of people were going through the same thing that I was, especially on social media, which is like a battlefield," A'mari shared.
