Spice super excited to have ‘Love & Hip Hop Family Reunion’ filmed in Jamaica

The third season of VH1's Love & Hip Hop Family Reunion premiered on November 28, and this time the cast and crew shot the entire season in Jamaica, where they were hosted at Trelawny's Ocean Eden Bay.

This was not the first time that the local all-inclusive hotel is making its reality TV appearance as it was also featured in the recently concluded season of The Real Housewives of Atlanta when Jamaican-American Olympian Sanya Richards-Ross took the cast on a trip to showcase her roots and culture.

Love & Hip Hop Family Reunion, first aired on February 2018, is known for bringing together past and current members of the Love & Hip Hop franchise for a drama-filled getaway to resolve differences and, in some cases, brew new conflict. This time around, Grammy-nominated Queen of the Dancehall Spice and hip hop artiste and entertainer Safaree, who are both Jamaican, can show off Jamaica's beauty and charm to their celebrity friends.

The show opened with scenes from Dream Weekend, which was held in Negril in the summer. Spice hit the stage flanked by her dancers after an introduction by King of the Dancehall Beenie Man. During her first confessional for the season, she expressed her excitement at the opportunity to have her island be the show's temporary home.

"This is going to be the first international Love & Hip Hop Family Reunion ever, and of course, I asked my Caribbean sister, Amara La Negra, [and] she is going to be my co-host, and I invited all my favourite people from all four cities of Love & Hip Hop. Mi just come off a European tour for my Grammy-nominated album, and of course you know there is no place like home," Spice said.

"I wanted to be the one to introduce people to the beaches, the breeze, the food, the culture. I am super excited to have everyone in my country," she continued.

Spice joined the Love & Hip Hop franchise for season season in 2018 and since then has become a resident cast member who certainly adds a Jamaican-Caribbean flavour to the show that has been around since 2012.
