Recording artiste shows off new ‘hourglass’ body

Recording artiste Medikk is sporting a significantly smaller waist and bigger buttocks for the new year.

She left some of her followers bewildered after she revealed her new body on Instagram on the weekend, and there has been a lot of talk surrounding the procedures she did. Some persons have even speculated that Medikk had a rib resection to achieve her hourglass shape, which she denies.

"I have been getting a lot of mixed reactions and criticisms about my new image but even before I received body reconstruction, persons were giving me a lot of flack or hate about my body before I touched it because I have always been on the thicker, curvier side," she told THE STAR.

Medikk added, "The women on both sides of my family are blessed with this body type and I, while I loved how I looked before, had wanted to enhance a few areas. So, no, I never had any ribs removed. But I received liposuction on my arms and inner thighs and a fat transfer procedure on my butt."

Prior to the surgery, the Waistline artiste-songwriter lost nearly 40lbs.

"Funny thing is before the surgery I had a routine in terms of exercise, going to the gym and maintaining a healthy diet. However, I lost the weight in my butt, and with my body type, I was not satisfied with that. I understood there were major risks with these surgical procedures, but I did my research and made up my mind and went to the Dominican Republic," she said.

Medikk, who is currently working with Naviigator Music to build and manage her brand, had taken a brief hiatus from recording to focus on her business, Rheborn Holistic, a manufacturing and distribution company that makes natural, personal care and skin care items. But she is ready to take the entertainment industry by storm and said the new shape was just the first step to turn a few heads. A video of the artiste showing off her new look has recently gone viral and though she may have lost followers, she has gained 10 times more, including international celebrities and NBA stars.

"The 2023 Medikk is definitely different from what persons saw in 2022 but not only because of my body. I'm an upgraded person overall in terms of self, style, content and how I analyse things," she said. "Then I used to care more about what people thought of me, and ignored my feelings or was more careful. But as an entertainer, I realise I'm offering a package and we oftentimes have to sell ourselves ... not saying I wasn't marketable before but I wanted to do this to add to the package which is going to be more sexy and edgy."

Medikk has a growing catalogue with songs like Money Feelings and a collaboration with Shane O titled Overcome.

"I want persons to know that not because a person does surgery means that they hate themselves, but we all have insecurities. I feel more confident to face the music and persons can look out for a lot more coming their way from me that includes collabs with some big industry players," Medikk said.
