Cyndrum has big dreams. He wants to perform to sold-out stadiums across the world, and reaching such heights as performing at events like the opening ceremony for the football World Cup and the Super Bowl half-time show.

A native of Southside, a gritty Central Kingston community, Cyndrum has been attracting eyes and ears for his talent since his appearance on the I'm Only Human podcast on YouTube. In fact, one user on the social media platform commented that he is the "next big dancehall star to rise out of the ghetto in Jamaica".

From leathery vocals to the lyrical bravado, Cyndrum's delivery has elements of artistes like Govana, Bounty Killer, Masicka and Vybz Kartel. With comparisons being drawn between him and these musical juggernauts, the up-and-coming entertainer is mindful of the importance of having his feet firmly planted on the ground.

"I've always known I wanted to become an artiste, there's no escaping it. Music is what I was born to do. I'm determined to show the world, and generations of past, now and beyond, the value of my knowledge and talent," Cyndrum told THE STAR.

"I strive for perfection in my music, [so] there's a lot of time and different ideas that go in to what I create when I enter the studio; and my passion, also, knowing my purpose through music is like none other," he added.

The youngster, whose given name is Kevon Vincent McNeish, said his decision to use the moniker Cyndrum was inspired by his desire to cause his music to have a certain effect on persons. Cyndrum, he said, is closely linked to the world 'syndrome', with him being "lyrically ill". He wants his infectious music to invade the minds and bodies of listeners.

Currently under the guidance of Big League Records, Cyndrum is working to release a series of songs next month, with Tommy Hilfiger being the first on the list.

"It's just a fun track to lighten the mood and just came from me joking about being tired of seeing Polos everywhere and hearing about Polos in lyrics," Cyndrum said.

The release of Tommy Hilfiger, however, is just one of the many things to which Cyndrum is looking forward. In addition to being an artiste, he wants to produce music as well as become a film director. As it pertains to his quest to become a world-class entertainer, Cyndrum's self-assessment is that he needs to "improve in every area of his craft".

"I have to work on my stage performance [in order] to be prepared to perform music at the highest level, selling out stadiums, performing at the World Cup, and be ready to stand beside Rihanna for her next Super Bowl appearances," Cyndrum said.
