Top Chef Records enjoys success with ‘Beautiful Day’ rhythm
US-based Jamaica-born producer Olando Graham has had a lifelong affinity with music.
"I grew up in an environment where I was surrounded by music. My mother, Miss Valda Roy, was a very good singer and who was always singing while doing her chores. On weekends my father, Mr Roy Graham, would string up a sound system and play music and entertain everyone in the community. This experience has made a profound impact on my life," he said.
The Mount Pleasant, St Catherine native is determined to make his Top Chef Records imprint a household name in reggae and dancehall music.
"Throughout the history of Jamaican music, there have been many great producers such as Clement 'Sir Coxsone' Dodd, King Jammys, Dave Kelly, Tony Kelly, and the late Bobby 'Digital' Dixon. I intend to build on the legacy that these great producers have created by working with talented artistes and musicians to make timeless reggae and dancehall music that will last forever," said Graham.
The hard-working producer is currently promoting his latest project, the 'Beautiful Day' rhythm, which features songs from Sizzla, Anue Nahki, Mr Kamanzi, and Hxtra Rdi.
"Since this rhythm was released, it has been getting a lot of support from DJs in various parts of the world, including the Caribbean, the US, Europe, Africa, and the UK. I plan to build on this momentum by dropping another hot new rhythm project called the 'Blue Stack' rhythm very soon ... I want fans to know it's going have some top guns on it," he said.
Graham is a past student of Tacius Golding High School in St Catherine. He launched his Top Chef Records label in 2020 with the release of the 'Entanglement' rhythm which featured songs from Sizzla, Capleton, Chronic Law, Hxtra Rdi, and Mr Kamanzi.
