Dr Love apologises to Macka Diamond

After trolling dancehall artiste Macka Diamond on the Internet for several years, social media blogger and record producer Dr Love says he is apologising for his actions.

He told THE WEEKEND STAR that after meeting Macka Diamond for the first time last weekend at an event in New Jersey, he felt ashamed about his behaviour and is seeking her forgiveness.

"She is a very nice person, and mi watch her perform and see how she interact with her fans. Mi really sorry, Macka, because mi treat yuh a way and yuh never deserve it. A people mi did a follow and bully yuh, and yuh never once ansa mi. Mi all ask her to take a picture with mi and she do it. Mi a beg her to forgive mi, please," Dr Love said.

In one of several live videos in which he mentioned Macka Diamond, he labelled her as the 'old woman of dancehall', while telling her to throw in her musical towel. After watching her performance, he said he is eating his words.

"I am asking her permission to make mi manage her career, because mi have what it takes to elevate her. She and [recording artiste] Nigy Boy would make a good team. She also have some obeah pon har weh mi plan fi take off her, too, because mi know how to do it. She a walk with a whole heap a heaviness and she nuh deserve it. So mi a publicly ask Macka to just consider mi offer," he said.

When contacted for a response, Macka Diamond said she is unsure what to do with Dr Love's apology and questions his genuineness. She said that she does not hold any hard feelings towards him, but said his remarks still hurt.

"Mi and Dr Love didn't have any issue at all and he took a set on mi. He degraded me in the worst way possible, and even said my toes were deformed and mi foot big. The man drag mi through the mud, man. I don't think it's right for someone to tear down another person without even knowing them. At this moment, I am unsure if I would want to work with him. Mi would have to think hard and long about it and ask the fans dem what dem think," she said.
