Marion Hall to trample demons at Groovin’ in the Park

Minister Marion Hall, formerly known as Lady Saw, is promising an exceptional delivery at at Groovin' in the Park this weekend. The gospel artiste, speaking on Instagram, said she will be using her performance to trample demons and minister to the hearts of people.

"If yuh see me get aggressive just know say a di demon dem mi a deal wid. We are taking back everything that the enemy stole from us. We are about doing God's business. I will see you at Groovin in the Park," she said, before showing a few minutes of the rehearsal set.

Described as North America's premier reggae and R & B festival, Groovin' in the Park will be held at the Roy Wilkins Park in Queens, New York, on Sunday. The event will be headlined by R&B crooner Charlie Wilson, who has topped the charts with 13 singles, has secured 13 Grammy nominations, a New York Times and Washington Post best-selling memoir, and several lifetime achievement and icon awards.

The show will also feature performances from dancehall and reggae stalwarts Cham, Wayne Wonder and Tarrus Riley. Dancehall artiste Spice, who was booked for the event, has pulled out.

"I would like to apologise to my loyal besties who was anticipating seeing me there, and I personally would like to extend this apology to the event promoter, who was extremely professional during this time," the queen of the dancehall said via Instagram.

"I take full accountability for this decision. I anticipate a great show with the original line-up and I am sure it will be a successful event as always," Spice added.

Groovin' in the Park's CEO, Chris Roberts, said patrons are in for a wonderful treat this weekend.

"We have a stellar line-up which includes R&B hitmaker Charlie Wilson, Tarrus Riley, Cham, Wayne Wonder and Frisco Kid in the timeless 90s segment. [There is also] Minister Marion Hall, Sir David Rodigan, Bass Oddessy and Yard Beat. We are looking forward to another great presentation this year," Roberts said.
