Recording artiste Nastic believes that the Jamaican Government should craft policy to ensure that radio stations give more airtime to reggae music.

"If you listen to most of the popular radio stations in Jamaica daily, you will realise that each of them play only a small amount of reggae music. All the stations, except for the ones that only play Jamaican music, give more airtime to other genres, such as hip-hop, soca, and R&B," he said.

He continued, "I believe that this is very unfair, especially given the fact that reggae music is one the most popular genres of music worldwide. Everywhere you go in the world, reggae music is known, but it seems as if we are trying to kill it in the place where it was created, which makes no sense to me," he said.

The St Thomas-based artiste, who lists Bob Marley, Peter Tosh and Garnett Silk among his musical influences, is currently promoting a new single titled Rise Up.

Produced by New York-based producer Fitzroy Hamilton for King Hamilton Production, Rise Up was released in April. Since then, the song has been receiving strong rotation in several territories, including Jamaica, the US, England, and Europe.

"This song has a positive message that people from all levels of society can relate to, and I am getting a lot of positive feedback about it from music lovers all over the world. I am grateful to all the DJs who are playing it, and all my fans for their love and support," said Nastic.

He is currently busy in the studios working on new projects for King Hamilton Production that he plans to release as singles.

"I'm also working on songs for my debut album," he said.
