Atlanta-based Jamaica-born reggae artiste Anthony Mattai is upbeat about his single, Struggle Is Real.

The song, which he produced with Shawn Evering, is slated to be released in August by Street People label and Mattai Music.

"I don't know anyone who doesn't know what it means to struggle. No matter how rich or poor you are, as long as you are alive, you must face some kind of struggle. Life is a struggle for everyone. It's only the most enlightened among us, the sages, who do not struggle. So, this song is a song of upliftment and inspiration for everyone in the struggle," he said.

The singer is currently working on his debut album, Rebirth of the Renaissance, which is slated to be released later this year.

"This is my first full-length project and I am very excited about it. The production process is going smoothly and the album is almost completed. We just have a few more songs to go," said Mattai.

He hails from Cockburn Pen in St Andrew and is a graduate of Pembroke Hall High School. Mattai launched his recording career with the release of a single titled Mama Cry, which was produced by Star Trail and released by Big Foote Records in 1995.

Some of his other songs are Leave it All to God, featuring Ras Fraser Jr, and Party, featuring Teflon.
