Jamaica's fast-rising reggae star Nigy Boy shocked his audience in Guyana recently by opening his set on the much-hyped Unforgettable concert with a gospel classic, 'The Goodness of God'.

Dressed in a tailored basic black outfit with dazzling silver trimmings, the 'Continent Boss' caught the capacity crowd at the National Stadium in Georgetown off guard with his opening rendition of the greatly loved gospel classic. The song lasted for just under three minutes and it triggered an immediate thunderous applause and singalong that left even Nigy Boy's management team in awe.

"The way Nigy's set opened was a closely guarded secret," Chris Crooks, the artiste's manager told THE STAR. "We took a gamble as we didn't know how this would have been received by the Guyanese audience but we were thrilled by the overwhelmingly positive and affirming response."

A very pleased Crooks pointed out that the song is a duet with an unnamed overseas-based female artiste and it is scheduled for release in a few weeks after the video has been completed.

After teasing and tantalising the audience with the inspirational joint, Nigy Boy then turned the tables to a blistering barrage of familiar dancehall and reggae favourites including Waterfall, Continent and Judgment. The remainder of the set turned into a raucous singalong, punctuated with a trio of sexy local dancers.

The Labour Day show was embellished by colourful fireworks in the night sky. The event was described as the most expensive concert ever held in the South American capital. VIP tickets were US$250 each and the impressive line-up included Burna Boy, Busy Signal and Tanya Stephens, all of whom delivered spectacular performances. Spotted in the audience were Guyana's president Irfaan Ali, former president Bharrat Jagdeo, as well as dancehall dons Skeng and Chronic Law and Jigga D.
