Elephant Man’s son sings Bounty Killer’s praises
Jenuin, son of dancehall icon Elephant Man, has pledged to draw inspiration from Bounty Killer's unwavering loyalty as he navigates his own musical journey.
The Seaview Gardens, St Andrew native, who previously used the moniker Ele Trunk, said Bounty Killer has served as both an inspiration and a mentor for him.
"For me, Bounty Killer is a driving and a thriving force in whatever I do in my music career. One of my latest projects, Cah Be Loyal, has much to do with Bounty's loyalty," said Jenuin, whose given name is Ashanti Bryan.
Bounty Killer, a dancehall superstar, served as a mentor for Scare Dem crew during the 1990s. Scare Dem comprised Elephant Man, Boom Dandimite, Harry Toddler and Nitty Kutchie. The '5-Star General', as he is also called, has fostered the growth of many other entertainers.
"Bounty Killer is not only true to Jenuin, but hundreds out there who have benefited from his loyalty, one way or another," the up-and-coming artiste reasoned.
"Bounty is quick to listen to my songs, and as he listens, his advice is that I sing from the depths of my diaphragm, so that my vocals are powerful and sustained. He is never too busy to give a listening ear. His lessons have helped to make me more versatile and confident in music," Jenuin said.
Cah Be loyal, which is produced by Richcode Music, is a colloborative effort between Geppi Don, Hot Vybes and Lyan Turbo. Jenuin has released songs such as Angel Giving Birth, One Day, Sketch and Guide My Steps.
