Immperial Alley Cat feels overlooked

Veteran dancehall artiste Immperial Alley Cat is opening up about the struggles he is facing in today's music scene. A prominent figure in the '90s, Immperial Alley Cat feels overlooked by emerging producers while established industry veterans have slowed their production, leading to a decline in his earnings.

"I had to teach myself the entire music-production process - making beats, mixing, and mastering," Immperial Alley Cat shared.

"Despite all the hits and trends I've set, the new producers weren't sending me their rhythms, and the older producers weren't as active. During that time, many new acts emerged, and I found myself overlooked and underbooked."

Immperial Alley Cat said he has used this period of neglect as motivation to reinvent himself. He is now back with a new single, Me Alone, and has honed his production skills to a professional level.

"Now, I can produce top-quality tracks just like any major producer and release music whenever I want. I'm in a position to maintain consistency in my career, and I'm letting my fans and the industry know there will be no more gaps in my output," he said confidently.

Reflecting on dancehall's current state, Immperial Alley Cat expressed his pride in being a key contributor to the genre's ongoing relevance and dominance. With a new music video accompanying Me Alone, he is ready to reclaim the spotlight and engage a global audience.

"The core of the track is a story about friends who allow success to change them negatively," the artiste said.

Immperial Alley Cat also emphasised that Me Alone serves as a reminder to those facing similar challenges.

"It's about standing strong, even when you're alone, and believing that hard work will eventually pay off as another line in the song goes, 'You got life and me got life, today fi you, tomorrow me can rise,'" he added.

Immperial Alley Cat made his recording debut in 1996 and has released numerous tracks during his career, including hits like Girls Tour, Brag and Boast, and A Gal A Say She Hotter. Now, with his renewed focus and determination, he is ready to make his mark once again.
