Tifa looking forward to being a wife
Dancehall artiste Tifa says she is looking forward to becoming Mrs West following her engagement to fellow artiste Kimani 'Dyum' West in a surprise engagement last week.
The Say Yes singer, who has been engaged three times previously, but never made it down the aisle, is confident that this is her moment.
"We are both in a better space and place in our lives! This time around just feels right!" she said. Tifa shared a video of her surprise engagement with fans on her social media platform last week, which showed her being led into a room by Dyum with the popular Boyz 2 Men song On Bended Knee playing in the background. As she went further into the room, she is observed screaming as the words 'Marry Me' are seen illuminated on a bed complemented by scattered roses. Dyum then got on one knee and asked Tifa for her hand in marriage, which she accepted.
"I just couldn't believe! It's not that it was far-fetched, but I was just so surprised and so happy! So many emotions were running through me. He always calls me his wife, his wifey. He's naturally charming and romantic! So I'm used to him doing cute stuff, but I was not expecting it! Never saw it coming! Him, my little sister and my friend got me good," she said as she recounted the moment.
"We had dinner and then he was like 'I got a room for us'! Unbeknownst to me it was a proposal," she added.
Dyum was referred to as 'emoji man' by Tifa as she used to tease fans with videos and pictures of his face replaced by emojis. That was before she made his identity public recently. Dyum told THE STAR that initially, he did not think Tifa would be interested in him.
"We met in NY years ago. My first impression was she's a star and would never look my way, but here we are now," he said. Dyum said that he admires several qualities about his future wife and things they share in common.
"She's very down to earth, other than when she's on the scene, I can count on her to have my back and very down to earth and morals intact, and those are the simple values I cherish. We enjoy long nature walks, listening and writing music together and going to the movies and visiting museums," he said.
Dyum and Tifa are also promoting their new single, Callin You, which is produced by his label.
"Yes, we finally decided to put out a song together. It's about me calling and telling her the stuff I desire to do to her when I see her," Dyum explained.
