Man who beat babymother walks free
A man accused of assaulting the mother of his children was set free when he appeared in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court
recently.
Twenty eight-year-old Alton Evans, who was on charges of assault occasioning bodily harm and malicious destruction of property, walked free when his child's mother asked the court to drop the charges.
"Him have two sons and he has apologised to me for what he did to me," the complainant explained.
She also told the court that he had repaired the washing machine and table that he had destroyed during an altercation.
"Him give me the money to fix everything, so it's all settled. I just want him to move back in and we move on with our lives," she added.
A no case order was then made and Evans was told the charges were now dropped.
