Police appeal for witnesses in bus driver's murder
The police are appealing to witnesses of Tuesday night's killing of a JUTC bus driver to come forward with any information they may have.
The driver, 51-year-old Albert Barnes of 3 East, Greater Portmore, St Catherine, was killed on Bedward Crescent in August Town shortly after 9 p.m.
Barnes was driving a JUTC bus along Bedward Crescent when explosions were heard coming from the direction of the bus.
The police were summoned and on their arrival, he was seen with a bullet wound to his chest.
Barnes was taken to University of the West Indies Hospital, where he died while being treated.
Robbery is suspected to be the motive of the killing.
