Toddler found dead in tank
The Manchester police are now investigating the circumstances surrounding which a toddler was found dead in a tank in Dunrobin district in the parish yesterday morning, after he was reported missing on Saturday.
Initial investigations suggest that three-year-old Taeshawn Richards died as a result of drowning, however the police are awaiting the results of the post mortem examination.
Reports from the police's Corporate Communications Unit (CCU) are that Richards's body was found floating in the tank by citizens at about 8 a.m. The body was removed from the water and taken to the morgue, pending a post mortem.
Taeshawn's father told TVJ News that he left the sleeping child at home with an older sibling on Saturday, however the older child left the house to attend to a 'dead yard' in the community.
He explained that when he returned home, he found the door wide open and Taeshawn did not answer his calls. He reported the matter to the police and continued searching for the child with the help of neighbours.
He added that they searched the same tank before, but did not find a body, until it was seen floating in the water yesterday.
