Farmer 'Joe killed after feud over woman
The St Thomas police are searching for a 24-year-old fisherman who allegedly chopped a farmer to death, partially severing one of his limbs, in Ivan Scheme, Duckenfield, for allegedly having sex with his girlfriend.
Information reaching THE STAR is that 26-year-old cane farmer Cleon Mullings, otherwise called 'Short Ras' or 'Bad Ras', of Ivan Scheme, died as a result of multiple chop wounds to his side, neck, back and left arm.
The incident reportedly took place at about 10 p.m. on Sunday, and has left the entire community in shock.
Reports from the police are that Mullings was accused of having sex with the girlfriend of the accused man, Oshane Garvey, who is also from Duckenfield.
THE STAR gathered that Mullings was attacked by the fisherman who was armed with a machete.
Further reports are that after being attacked, Mullings ran and collapsed in a nearby yard, while the suspect escaped in nearby bushes.
THE STAR understands that Mullings was rushed to the Princess Margaret Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The police's Corporate Communications Unit (CCU) confirmed the reports and told our news team that the murder weapon was found at the suspect's residence.
The matter is being investigated by the Morant Bay police.
