Father chops man over damaged football

A man who allegedly chopped another man in his head with a machete because he chopped up his son's football had his bail extended yesterday.

When the matter was called up in the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court, the accused, Alwin Brown, pleaded not guilty.

He told the court that the complainant destroyed his son's football and then attacked him.

PRESS CHARGES

He said: "Your Honour, is him chop up my son football and then lay wait me when I coming home and attack me ... is the same cutlass cut him".

However, Parish Judge Jacqueline Wilcott instructed Brown to go back to the police and press charges for the attack.

The complainant told the court that he got chopped twice in his head and pointed to the injuries.

He told the court he went to the Olympic Way Clinic. The medical report is outstanding.

Brown's bail was extended and he is to return to court on October 29. Wilcott said: "When you return this should be a cross case."
