The St Catherine South police have placed Caymanas Bay, home to the popular Caymanas River, under microscope after a bloody week, which recorded six fatalities as opposing gangs wrestle for control of a nearby spa.

The latest incident was a quadruple murder on Tuesday night. Among the victims was Jerry 'Jerry Dawg' Solomon, an alleged leader of one of the gangs.

The police have listed the gangs as the Jones gang and the Tylum gang, and say there have been casualties on both sides.

Senior Superintendent in charge of St Catherine South Clive Blair confirmed the recent fatalities were due to the ongoing war over the spa.

Our news team also gathered that two separate incidents of murder occurred before Tuesday's quadruple killing and investigators are still trying to ascertain if all the acts are connected.

The reports from the police are that at about 10:05 p.m. on Tuesday in Caymanas Bay, residents heard several loud explosions.

THE WEEKEND STAR gathered that the following morning, about 7:30 a.m., residents went to the area where the explosions were heard and saw the bodies of three men lying face down in blood on the veranda.

The police were summoned and upon further search of the premises, a fourth body was found to the back of the house.

The scene was processed and several 9 mm spent casings were recovered as well as 9 mm live round.

The area has been tense since the death of popular music producer Cleon 'Mineral Boss' Jones in Caymanas Bay last year on December 12.
