Negril-based entertainer Strait E is rapidly becoming a household name among dancehall fans, so much so that he has now officially declared himself as a sex symbol.

Over the past two years, this seasoned DJ/singer/dancer/songwriter has released some 20 songs and 10 videos to satisfy the growing demand from his female dancehall fans, and the women are screaming for more.

"I see myself as a sex symbol based on the robust screams I always get from both local and visiting female audiences when I perform," Strait E said.

The very confident and self-assured artiste says he takes the adoration in stride, always focusing on the growth of his music career.

Strait E, whose given name is Eaton Suckoo, was born in Savanna-la-Mar and attended Petersfield High School, both in Westmoreland.

From a very early age, he was driven by a passionate love for music and his happiest times have always been when holding a microphone, entertaining an audience.

"I am crazy about music and I have always found it very easy to express myself through this art form", he told WESTERN STAR.

He is the first to admit that many of his songs are on the sexy and explicit side, but he points out that he writes about the realities that he sees around him every day.

Strait E has two singles out. One of them, Hore, captured the attention of dancers across the island a few weeks ago who participated in an online dance competition to win J$50,000 in June.

Almost 20 women entered the challenge, including one participant from St Vincent and the Grenadines.

His second single, Nuff, is a collaboration with reggae artiste Jahvillani and the song celebrates the abundance of good times, liquor, food, girls and cash at a dancehall party.

Strait E's immediate plan is to release more singles on the local market before turning his thoughts towards an EP next year.

"The sky is the limit", he quipped. "I want to win a Grammy one day, and as I grow, I also want to invest in other local talent like myself," he said.
