A woman who allegedly beat a child with a board made an appearance in the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court yesterday.

Nickeisha Wynter pleaded not guilty to charges of cruelty to a child and assault occasioning actual bodily harm. It was reported that on October 25, Wynter's 10-year-old son and the complainant had a physical altercation. It was further reported that on November 4, about 3:37 p.m, Wynter saw the complainant playing football along the roadway and then used a piece of board and slapped the complainant on his head, chest, ears and arms, causing bruising and swelling.

When the case was mentioned before Senior Parish Judge Lori-Ann Cole-Montague, the prosecutor told her that the file was not complete. Wynter is expected to return to court on January 7, 2022.
