CORRECTION & CLARIFICATION

This newspaper on Monday, December 20, published a story with the headline 'She was just the perfect child' - Fighter J'Quani loses battle with cancer', which erroneously indicated that the family is appealing to the public for assistance to have J'Quani Chung's body flown home for her funeral. This is not the case.

J'Quani, 15, died of kidney failure in India on December 6. Arrangements have already been made for her remains to be returned to Jamaica.

We regret the error and apologise for any embarrassment that may have been caused.

Doctors in south Asian country successfully performed a bone marrow transplant procedure on J'Quani, as part of her treatment for leukaemia, but she later developed an infection and subsequently died.
