Women spending big bucks for fluffier buffs

February 23, 2022

Some women are now digging into their pockets to pay for a more meatier vulva to go from 'flat bridge' to 'buff bay'.

According to Michelle Dior, director of the Dominican Republic-based entity Designer Bodys, females are adding the procedure to their list. Vaginal rejuvenation with fat transfer uses fat grafting techniques to enhance the vaginal area. Fat cells are first harvested from an area of the body with excess fat, such as the abdomen or hips. The fat is then purified for careful reinjection into the target area. Dior said the surgery attracts females between 26 and 55 and says the new buff can cost up to US$600 (approximately $93,000). But she says that while a fluffier buff does not add spice to women's libido, it certainly adds to their confidence.

"Some females like to wear it like that so that when they are wearing tight clothes it is obvious. The procedure really doesn't add anything as it relates to their bedroom activities," she said, noting that some women come in for other procedures and then decide to have it done. Sexual intercourse is not recommended for at least four weeks after the fat transfer.

Certified clinical sexologist and family therapist Dr Sidney McGill said that while some critics believe that women do these enhancements due to self-esteem issues, this may be far from the case.

"It depends on the person's age and the kind of family dynamics that they are coming out of," he said. He told THE STAR that the reason behind such a surgery may vary from person to person.

"One person may look at it and say 'I love how I look in the mirror' while another person may think that her partner may be more turned on because he may say something that hinted at that and it may confirm her long-time views. You really can't just come up with a general view as to what may be the cause behind such as surgery because it varies," McGill said.
