Clarke excites Combo Boss - Promoter of freaky party thinks finance minister’s ‘Keisha’ reference is about her
Whether by design or coincidence, Jamaica's Minister of Finance Dr Nigel Clarke yesterday appeared to have given the infamous Combo Boss the kind of endorsement she needed for the next staging of her freaky parties.
"Mi feel good fi know seh dem a think about mi inna Parliament. Mi excited, mi nah lie, and as mi seh, mi waah di Government just open up the entertainment sector suh mi can get fi run wid di ting and make a likkle piece a food," Combo Boss said after the minister spoke in Parliament.
Clarke, in a solid speech on the state of Jamaica's economy, spoke about the importance of the entertainment sector to the country's economy.
"Prime Minister, I know that you working on something for the entertainment sector, but don't take too long PM, because I want to come out because when we have a dance, when we have a round robin, when we have a cake sale and fish fry, a whole heap a people benefit. We taking bout cane man, soupie, nutsy. Madam speaker, all Keisha," Clarke said as he demonstrated the impact of the sector on the economic lives of people.
The minister, who was opening the 2022/2023 Budget Debate in the House of Representatives, said Jamaica has been experiencing strong economic recovery since the sharp downturn that was brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic. He said that the growth will get even stronger when the entertainment sector reopened.
He referenced 'Keisha', who like the sugar cane man and 'nutsy' is waiting for the opportunity to cash in on the sector's reopening. It has been in lockdown for the better part of two years.
There were inaudible comments from some members and suddenly the House erupted in fits of laughter. Clarke was quick to clarify.
"Madam speaker Keisha, wait nuh man, no that Keisha! Keisha get her pardner draw and convert that into buying some liquor to sell, add some ice and she borrow a igloo, and two case on top of di igloo on top of di ice....Is Keisha weekend dinner dat!," he said.
Ordinarily, Clarke's attempt to simplify a difficult subject such as economics by personalising it would have received high commendations. However, many persons on social media yesterday felt that Clarke butchered Combo Boss' name and should have said Kedesha instead of Keisha.
Interestingly, while Combo Boss answers to the name Kedesha, she is actually Shanice Wilson. Kedesha is actually the name of her partner in crime.
Combo Boss captured the public's attention last December after posting videos on social media in which she promoted a party that promised sexual acts. Although she was cautioned by the police not to keep the party, as it would constitute a breach of the Disaster Risk Management Act, she still hosted the event at Portmore's Back Road in St Catherine. Combo Boss attempted to stage another event in Ocho Rios, St Ann, but her efforts were stymied by the police who warned her that she would be prosecuted.
She now has a Combo Part 2, and can't wait for the entertainment sector to be reopened so she can go ahead with its staging.
