Woman arrested after accusing cop of giving oral sex

April 13, 2022

A woman who reportedly told a female cop on the grounds of the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court that she ‘s**k h**d like dog’ spent last night in jail.

Jannette Cain, a construction worker, was arrested and charged with use of indecent language, uttering a threat and use of abusive and calumnious language following her exchange with the cop, which took place in full view of two justices of the peace. She will be sentenced today.

The court heard that Cain tried to gain access to a restricted area. She was warned by the cop not to venture into it, but ignored the instructions.

“I see the person look at me in a dirty way, so I said ‘you looking at me like you smell something stink?’ When I said that nobody heard what I was saying. She ‘rail’ up and say ‘Stink! Stink! Yuh brite, who yuh a call stink?’ I said ‘Me never say yuh stink but since yuh said that, yuh look stink’,” the cop shared with the court.

It is alleged that Cain told the officer ‘Guh s**k yuh mada’, in the presence of a parish judge, who reprimanded her. However, she continued to threaten the cop, allegedly telling her that she would hit her in her face followed by other insults. Cain was again reprimanded by the judge and arrested.

Cain pleaded guilty only to the use of indecent language and explained that she visited the premises in search of an attorney.

“I bend over in front the gate to look if I saw the attorney. She (the cop) said ‘Ma’am don’t go there’, I said ‘I’m not going in there’. When I said that I wasn’t going there, she said ‘Yuh stink like’. You can’t just have your job and just come out, true you have authority and want to abuse somebody on the outside. That’s not fair judge. I left my job just to come and get a business card and end up locked up,” Cain said.

However, when Senior Parish Judge Lori-Anne Cole-Montaque asked if the attorney whom Cain was searching for told her to meet him at the court’s compound, she said no. Cole-Montague vowed to restore the sanctity of the courts.

“Half-Way Tree needs to be regulated. There are too many persons walking on the compound with no business on the compound,” the senior judge said. Cole-Montaque further informed the accused that only specific persons are granted access to the restricted area and she should have followed the cop’s instructions.

“You have no business here. The courthouse is not a place for people to meet and greet and for attorneys to conduct business, we don’t have the space for it. I am very troubled by what I hear and I don’t think I should have you go home tonight. Sometimes strong messages must be sent. You cannot be going and peeping into where judges park and where prosecutors park,” the judge stressed.
