UWI student accused of assault to appear in court today

The student of the University of the West Indies who was arrested and charged with the assault of his girlfriend is to appear in the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court today.

The 20-year-old Matthew Hyde is accused holding his girlfriend captive for three days during which he allegedly beat her and burned her with a clothes iron.
