August 15, 2023

Two Corporate Area residents are expected to be sentenced next week for stealing $30,000 worth of chicken mixed parts from the wholesale where they were employed.

Tahje Nugent and Maurice Wright pleaded guilty to larceny as a servant on August 8 when they first appeared in the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court.

Wright and Nugent were employed to a wholesale in downtown Kingston. On August 3, when the complainant was viewing his security footage, he noticed Nugent and Wright removing two bags of chicken, valued at $30,000, from storage.

The men, who have since made restitution, were ordered to return to court on August 22, when they are to be sentenced by Senior Parish Judge Lori-Anne Cole-Montaque.
