Neighbour from hell - Woman tired of being called obeah worker

August 15, 2023

Fed up with being falsely accused of practising Obeah, a woman in the county of Middlesex has openly expressed her wish for her neighbour to cease interactions, allowing her to finally find peace.

An exasperated Mary Black* shared her frustrations with THE STAR, detailing the persistent harassment she endures from her neighbour who continually accuses her of witchcraft.

"I want her to stop harassing me and spreading rumours that I'm involved in obeah," Black said.

The incensed woman said that despite having the other woman as a neighbour for several years, the 'troublemaking' activities began in 2020. She claimed that she had been subjected to threats on multiple occasions, escalating to the point where she had to involve the police.

Following her report, Black alleged that a relative of her neighbour began issuing threats toward her, which she promptly reported to the police as well. This situation was eventually mediated and resolved.

Black continued to share her distressing experiences, stating that despite thinking the ordeal was over, it persisted.

"When mi wet up mi yard one a di time, she go outside and shout say she a break up every vial, out every candle and tun over every wash pan. Mi can't wet up mi yard in peace because she say a obeah mi a work and keep on a antagonise mi. Dis woman need fi stop man," she said.
