St Thomas man arrested, charged following tussle with cop
Junior Edwards, 48, a resident of Trinityville in St Thomas was arrested and charged after he allegedly got into a tussle with a police officer during a search of his home on Tuesday.
He has been charged with assault occasioning grievous bodily harm, resisting arrest, possession of a prohibited weapon and unauthorised possession of ammunition.
According to the Morant Bay police, about 6:30 p.m., an operation was conducted at Edwards’ home; during which the tussle between him and an officer ensued.
One Glock pistol fitted with a magazine containing 17 rounds of ammunition was seized.
Both Edwards and the officer were taken to the hospital, where they were treated after which he was charged. A court date for him is being finalised.
