Lockup escapee found with child's mother in St Catherine

The St Catherine police have arrested 32-year-old Kenneth Omari Stewart, one of eight inmates who escaped from the Black River Lockup in St Elizabeth in June.

It is reported that he was found with the mother of his child at a house in Red Ground, Tryall Heights on Thursday. He was apprehended without incident

Stewart, who is a construction worker from Beacon Hill in the parish, is the second escapee to be recaptured so far. 

The woman was also taken into custody and is currently under investigation as she faces charges for harbouring a fugitive.

Both individuals were transported to the Spanish Town Police Station and are now under the custody of the Spanish Town CIB.
