Man damages rubbish truck over parking spot
A Corporate Area man has agreed to make compensation to a garbage truck operator, after he damaged the headlamps of the vehicle.
Iran Butler pleaded guilty to malicious destruction of property before Senior Parish Judge Lori-Anne Cole-Montaque on Wednesday. Prosecutors outlined that Butler and the complainant had an altercation relating to where the rubbish truck was parked. The complainant informed Butler that he would not be parked for a lengthy period and left the premises. Upon his return, he saw Butler holding an instrument at the front of the truck.
"Is a rubbish truck Your Honour and me tell them several times not to park there," Butler explained to the judge.
However, the matter was prematurely adjourned to facilitate the attendance of the complainant.
Butler, who has a previous conviction for illegal possession of firearm, was made the subject of a fingerprint and was remanded in custody until November 17. He is expected to make restitution when the matter returns to court.
