Man punches babymother for leaving baby to attend party
A Corporate Area man told a senior parish judge that he punched his child's mother in the face, as she repeatedly leaves their 10-month-old baby at home to attend parties.
"Is careless behaviour, Your Honour. She always leave our 10-month-old child alone in the house with her underage sister to go to party; me tired to talk to her about it," Raphael Bhalai explained on Monday in the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court.
Bhalai pleaded guilty to unlawful wounding before Senior Parish Judge Lori-Anne Cole-Montaque.
The court heard that Bhalai punched the complainant in her face, causing a wound on her lip that bled.
"One Monday morning, she know say me affi go a work and me wah leave the house, and see me a call her phone and nuh take my call. So me use another phone and call her and she answer and when me a talk to her, she a laugh," he explained further, when asked by the judge why he hit the 20-year-old complainant.
The matter was prematurely adjourned until January 30, 2024 to facilitate the complainant's attendance.
