Several arrested at party in Spanish Town
Several patrons, including a member of the entertainment fraternity, were taken into police custody on Thursday morning after an illegal firearm was seized at a party in Spanish Town, St Catherine.
It is reported that about 3:30 a.m., police personnel swooped down at the event call 'Pill Wednesday'.
It is further reported that during the operation, a bag containing a Glock Pistol discovered.
The suspects, who are all men, were arrested and escorted to the Spanish Town Police Station.
Acting head of the St Catherine North Police Division, Hopton Nicholson, said the police will be continuing its offensive against criminal activities.
"The police is taking a zero-tolerance approach to any illegal activities and we are please with this morning's operation," Superintendent Nicholson said.
The identity of the men are being withheld pending further investigation.
