Deputy mayor calls for SOE to be reinstated

Deputy Mayor of Montego Bay, Richard Vernon, is calling for the reinstatement of a State of Emergency in the parish of St James.

His comments follow the fatal shooting of two males students from the Chetwood Memorial Primary while on their way home on Monday evening. 

The boys, who have been identified as seven-year-old Justin Perry, and nine-year-old Nacholive Smith, were rushed to hospital where they were pronounced dead. 

It is reported that a man, another passenger who was also shot, died on the spot.
