Man posts nude photos of ex on WhatsApp
A Corporate Area man who is accused of posting nude photos of his ex-girlfriend on WhatsApp, threatened her a few days later in Half-Way Tree, St Andrew.
On Monday, the man was ordered by a senior parish judge to report to the police daily, one of six strict bail conditions imposed by senior jurist Lori-Anne Cole-Montaque on the accused, to ensure the safety of the complainant. It was shared by prosecutors that on October 26, the man posted lewd pictures of the complainant on his WhatsApp status, then proceeded to share an illicit video of the complainant with her mother. He is alleged to have threatened the complainant to share more lewd content.
The Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court heard further that some days after the posts, the complainant was walking in Half-Way Tree with a male co-worker when the accused, who was armed with a knife, approached her and said, "Hey gal, me ago kill yuh. Yuh a style me, me ago kill yuh."
The defendant was subsequently charged with assault at common law and using computer for malicious communication. He pleaded not guilty to the offences.
Judge Cole-Montaque ordered that, as a condition of his bail, the man must not post anything about the complainant, mention her name nor have contact or communication with her. The accused was made the subject of a daily 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. curfew and is to surrender his travel documents. A stop order was imposed.
A fingerprint order was also made and the matter was adjourned until March 10, 2024 for file completion and for the man to settle his legal representation.
