The Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM), is currently on the scene of a shooting in Half-Way Tree in St Andrew that has left one man injured.

The STAR understands that the injured man, who has yet to be identified, is a taxi operator who was ordered by a member of the police to stop.

It is alleged that the now injured man ignored the orders and in an attempt to leave the scene, used his vehicle to hit the cop. It is unclear if the lawman was injured.

It is further alleged that after being hit with his vehicle, the policeman pulled his service pistol and shot the taximan in his shoulder.

The scene, which sits right infront of the popular Brooklyn supermarket on Hope Road, next to Clock Tower Plaza, has been cordoned off. Motorists can expect delays.
