Would-be robber flees after confronted by homeowner
Jerome Campbell, a labourer from Montego Bay in St James, is counting his blessings as he managed to escape with minor injuries, after being confronted by a machete-wielding homeowner during an attempted robbery.
It is reported that, the brave homeowner was at his premises on March 24, when Campbell, who was armed with a hand gun, broke and entered into his bedroom using a side door.
It is further reported that while Williams was searching the room, he was confronted by the homeowner, who in fear of his life, used a machete to inflict a chop wound to the intruder.
Williams then ran and made his escape on foot in the surrounding area. A report was later made to the police and acting on information received, Campbell was arrested later that day.
On Tuesday, April 02, Campbell was subsequently charged. A court date is being finalised.
