Teacher charged for allegedly sexually molesting 12-y-o student

An educator at a St Catherine-based institution has been arrested and charged following allegations he sexually molested a female student under his care.

The 30-year-old man is answering to charges of sexual touching and sexual grooming.

His name is being withheld to protect the identity of the 12-year-old victim.

He allegedly committed the crimes at the school.

The matter was reported to the police and following an investigation the teacher was arrested.

He was subsequently charged on Thursday after a question and answer session in the presence of his attorney.

A court date is being finalised for him.
