Sergeant implicated in phone theft

A police sergeant is said to be a suspect in a case of larceny currently before the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court.

One of the accused in the alleged plot, Kereece Lindo, was arraigned before Senior Parish Judge Sanchia Burrell on Tuesday for conspiracy and larceny by trick. It is alleged that Lindo was part of a scheme that resulted in the theft of two phones. Allegations state that Lindo was told by the sergeant to go to a location to collect the phones.

"She's either a co-conspirator or she can say to the police, 'I had no clue, I had no agreement but I can tell you how it really go'," the senior judge argued.

"There are potentially other suspects," Burrell said further.

Lindo was remanded in custody until September 12, when a bail application is to be heard. The investigators to continue their probe into the matter.
