Warring couple call truce after mediation

A domestic dispute between a Corporate Area man and his child's mother was amicably resolved in the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court last week.

The defendants, Kerron Davis and Cassandra Brown, agreed to withdraw the matters against each other. Davis and Brown are charged in a case and cross case for unlawful wounding. It was outlined by prosecutors that there was a verbal altercation between Davis and Brown, which turned physical. Brown used a glass bottle to hit Davis in the forehead, causing a wound which bled. In response to Brown's attack, Davis bit her on her left cheek.

"You sure it wasn't an enthusiastic kiss?" Senior Parish Judge Sanchia Burrell asked the prosecutor rhetorically.

"Both of you share a five-year-old child together, you have at least 13 years left together. You should talk about it," the judge instructed.

After hours of intervention offered by a representative from the Dispute Resolution Foundation, the defendants agreed to withdraw the matters. They were subsequently discharged from the court.
