75-year-old Canadian charged for smuggling cocaine in food packages at airport

An elderly man has been arrested and charged at an airport for allegedly attempting to smuggle cocaine concealed in food packages to Canada on Wednesday.

The Firearms and Narcotics Investigation Division is charging Canadian Kenneth Daley, 75, with possession of cocaine, dealing in cocaine, attempting to export cocaine, possession of criminal property, and conspiracy.

Reports are that Daley was attempting to board a flight at the Norman Manley International Airport in Kingston, when he was intercepted by the officers.

A search of his luggage revealed four kilograms of cocaine concealed in food packages marked 'Festival Mix,' 'Mega Punch,' and 'Jablum Coffee'.

He was arrested and brought into custody.

Daley’s court date is being finalized.
