Exotic dancers shunning clubs for topless parties

The manager of a Corporate Area nightclub is advising other entities to hold on to their exotic dancers as more women are turning to topless parties that offer fast cash and greater freedom.

"It's a struggle fi get dancers because most a them a go work the topless parties," said France Lamont, manager of Flirt Nightclub on Constant Spring Road.

"Mi haffi a go whole heap a party and a floss and tip girl fi see if mi can get new girls a the club."

He added, "Mi have dancer now and them look good, but we pay good so dem stay, but dem still tek dem topless work when dem ready."

Lamont, who took over management of the long-running club last December, said there are loyal dancers who stay.

"But sometimes mi end up losing girls because them get fast money a go different different topless parties for one night," he said. Lamont said that previously, the 'competition' for dancers was from other clubs. But that has changed.

"Every night a topless party keep someweh inna Jamaica. Them love the excitement. A it cause dem get fi go all bout, and no night nuh slow a dem topless party yah," he said. Lamont said this trend took off during the pandemic and hasn't slowed down since. To keep his talent, he is now using promotions and higher pay as incentives.

"What mi have to do now is have different promotions to keep the vibes and pay them good. A that hold them," he said.

"Right now mi a plan fi spend some money and get some nice country girls to come into town and give them a nice house to stay. They don't pay water, rent, nor light. So those things kind of help them to stick around."
