‘Ju Ju Frass’ charged with fatal stabbing of taxi man

January 12, 2026

After surrendering to police earlier this month, a Portmore taxi operator has now been charged in connection with a deadly stabbing that ended with a fellow taxi man crashing while trying to save his life.

Detectives assigned to the St Catherine South Division have charged taxi operator Lloyd Alexander Armstrong, otherwise called 'Ju Ju Frass', for the alleged fatal stabbing of fellow taxi operator Damion Delano Lawrence in Portmore last year.

Lawrence, 45, also known as 'Yankee' and 'Trainer', of Eltham Park, Spanish Town, died after he was stabbed during a dispute near the Portmore Mall and later crashed his vehicle while fleeing for help.

Police say Armstrong, 33, of Watson Grove, Gregory Park, surrendered to lawmen on January 5, 2026, and was formally charged on January 11.

Reports are that about 6:15 pm on July 15, 2025, Lawrence and Armstrong became involved in a heated argument in the vicinity of the Portmore Mall. During the confrontation, Armstrong allegedly pulled a knife and stabbed Lawrence in the upper body before fleeing the scene.

Despite his injuries, Lawrence reportedly managed to drive his Nissan motorcar onto Portmore Drive, where he later crashed into the rear of a truck.

He was rushed to the Spanish Town Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

The investigation was led by the Portmore Criminal Investigation Branch, which resulted in Armstrong's surrender and subsequent charge.

A court date is being finalised for his appearance.
