Cavalier promising young goalkeeper Jaedine White is pleased to be back in the international fold after he received his first Reggae Boyz call-up in more than a year.

White was recently called up as a replacement for Humble Lion's, Dennis Taylor for the team's two friendly matches against Saudia Arabia earlier this month.

Taylor tested positive for the coronavirus while the Reggae Boyz were en route to Saudi Arabia.

But the 20-year-old, who was regularly member of the squad before he fell out of favour with the national programme after his moved from Cavalier to Humble Lion in the 2018-2019 season, was elated to be a part of the set-up again.

"It is always a joy and pleasure when you get the chance to represent your country," White told STAR Sports.

Really grateful

"Even though this happened suddenly and unexpectedly, I am really grateful for the chance I have gotten, and I look forward to making the best possible use of the chance."

The former St Andrew Technical High School goalkeeper said it has been frustrating being on the outside, and although he did not play in any of the two matches against the Saudis, he said it was good to reconnect with the players and the coaching staff, and he is looking to have further discussions with the coach about his opportunities to get into the squad.

"It has been frustrating not being in the team for so long, but I am really please to be back. I knew I was not sure to play in any of the two games. But I was glad I got the opportunity to be with the team and the players again. But I was really hoping to give the coach a reason to make me a regular selection again," he stated.
