Mount Pleasant's striker Trivante Stewart has been inspiring since the start of the Jamaica Premier League (JPL) play-offs, scoring three goals in two games and being a nightmare for defenders to mark.

On Sunday, a lot of Mount Pleasant's hopes will rest on his shoulder for the final against Cavalier.

Stewart, who is on 18 goals, believes he is unstoppable when he is in top form and is looking to bring his ultimate game to the final, where he will also have a showdown with Cavalier's Colin Anderson, who has scored 19 goals, for the Golden Boot.

"I know they will come and try to mark me out, but that is very hard to do, worse when I am on my top game, and my team needs me.

"I have been putting in the work in training, because I found my team needs me the most, and with me on my 'A' game, it's impossible to stop me," he told Star Sports.

After his two superb goals against Arnett Gardens in the second-leg semi-final, pundits have likened the striker to the former Chelsea ace Didier Drogba, including club owner Peter Gould.

Stewart, although wanting to add the Golden Boot title to his name, insists that bringing the trophy to St Ann for the first time would be the greater satisfaction.

"I work hard for that (to be the leading scorer), and I owe it to my community, friends and family. I want the fans to come out for the final and give us the crowd we need and the support. I feel good putting Mount Pleasant in the final for the first time, and I want the St Ann people to be happy," Stewart said.

During the second round, Stewart struggled in front of goal, scoring just twice in 13 matches to end the preliminary stage with 15 goals.

Mount Pleasant, the big spenders from St Ann, are hunting their first national title in their first final, and Stewart said everyone understands the significance of the occasion.

"It's a very important game on the 11th (Sunday). We will work and train hard for the game and do the best we can do," he said.
