Colin Anderson, despite ending the Jamaica Premier League (JPL) with the Golden Boot and a goal in Sunday's final, was dejected and inconsolable after Cavalier lost 2-1 to Mount Pleasant.

Anderson scored Cavalier's goal on the night and was pleased to finish the competition as the top marksman with 20 goals, however, he was very critical of his performance in the final.

"It wasn't a good game for me. I started the game really slow, although I picked up at the end. So I had a really flat start, and although at the end I started to build up, it was a really bad game for me, and unfortunately, we didn't get the win," he said.

He praised the players for their effort but believed that fatigue could have played a part in their sluggish start to the game.

"The team fought hard, but we seemed a bit tired because it has been a long hard season, so we just have to come again."

The player maintained that he aimed to score at least 20 goals for the season and was proud to wear the crown of top scorer.

"It is a good achievement for me. I set a target of 20 to 25 goals, and I got 20, and I am satisfied with that," he said.

Anderson has created waves since the start of the season, and although he wants to be there to help Cavalier across the line next season, he is not sure what will happen.

"Let's see about that. Hopefully, I will be here same way," he stated.
